Could the Swine Flu (H1N1) Turn Deadly?
By Bob Proctor
So far, the Swine H1N1 flu has been fairly mild, but could this turn into something much worse? I just heard an interesting news report from our local health department. According to them, the 1918 flu started out as a mild strain in the spring, killing a relatively small number of people. Then it disappeared in the summer. Somewhere during that period it mutated into a strain that was not only more deadly, but which passed more efficiently from one person to another. When it returned in the fall, it killed, depending on whose numbers you believe, between 20 and 100 million people worldwide. Sound familiar? It sent a chill up and down my spine. He cautioned against holding/attending any group gatherings the next several days and recommended that schools close. While I dearly hope that this stays minor, this is worth considering... Be safe! |
